Exhibition Pavillion: Chandigarh University, Chandigarh.
Concept

This workshop, held at Chandigarh University, brings together a diverse group of students from fields such as fashion design, interior design, and fine arts. The aim of the workshop is to impart basic skills in working with natural materials, with a special focus on bamboo. Students will learn how to explore different forms and techniques using bamboo, fostering creativity and innovation in their respective disciplines.

Over the course of five days, participants will collaborate to construct a display-cum-exhibition pavilion. This pavilion is designed as a kit of parts, allowing it to be easily assembled, disassembled, and transported for use in various locations as a mobile exhibition space. The pavilion will provide a platform for students to showcase their work, integrating a fabric shamiyana (canopy) that incorporates different textiles, adding an element of versatility and aesthetic appeal.

This hands-on workshop emphasizes practical experience, enabling students to develop essential skills in working with tools and collaborating with craftsmen. By the end of the workshop, students will have gained valuable insights into sustainable construction practices and the potential of bamboo as a versatile material, enriching their knowledge and enhancing their design capabilities.
