An office designed for a travel agent in Ahmedabad, this space exudes the quirky nature of the client. The brief was to design an unusual yet simple space with muted colours and fewer elements, making the tiny space seem larger. The client wanted his visitors to feel transported into a different space, a reflection of his own passion for traveling and collecting things. There is a simple progression of spaces starting with a small waiting and reception area for visiting clients, an open area for office staff and a cabin for the owner.

Designed as a composition of lines and squares, the space follows a subtle rhythm which binds all the elements together. The square terrazzo flooring in white marble bounded by a white marble border and skirting, acts like a carpet on which the other elements are laid. The table tops also have marble, resting on nimble white metal sections. White perforated metal screens create various levels of privacy and openness in the outer space. The partition between the open staff area and the directors cabin is made of square ribbed glass framed in wood. Inside the cabin, there is more usage of wood for the furniture with hints of some metal objects, lending warmth to the space.

Every artwork in the space is specially curated or designed. The city silhouettes in the reception area greet the visitor, opening up their minds to the world of travel. Further, 2 large custom block print artworks made in collaboration with local artisans, lend the necessary warmth of colour in the otherwise whitewashed space. These artworks are interpretations of the narrations of the client's various travel encounters. Marble cut outs of various countries are pasted in various nooks and corners of the office. The user encounters these when engaging with the space more closely.
