The pavilion is built in the Rural mall, in Visdalya village, Surat, owned by the Surat forest department. The campus has a bamboo workshop, agro farm and a café, all run by the locals. They make bamboo furniture like chairs, tables, showpieces, clocks and local produces like honey, mushrooms and different pulses.

The bamboo pavilion is designed and executed as a place for the locals to sell their produce and exhibit their bamboo furniture. The locals are envisioned to develop a sense of ownership towards the place while selling their products. The pavilion abuts the main highway, and so is made to attract all passerby’s. While the structure explores bending properties of bamboo. forming a parabolic shed visible even from a distance.
